We’ve got a new teaser trailer for Scream VI heading our way. And while sports fans and Super Bowl commercial fans will have to wait for the big game this Sunday to see it run on network television, those with access to the internet (a.k.a. all of us) can see it right now on YouTube.

The trailer confirms what we already knew—that the film was taking the franchise to New York City—but it also sheds some light on what makes this new Ghostface killer tick. While the trailer states that they aren’t like any Ghostface we’ve seen before, the masked murderer still enjoys killing folks and has even set up a lovely shrine to Ghostfaces of movies past. The movie also gives us a cool shot of the kids trying to escape on a ladder bridged across two windowsills on two adjacent buildings (you couldn’t do that shot in Woodsboro!), which suggests the scares and the killings will take advantage of the Big Apple’s cityscape.

Scream VI is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett with a script from James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick. It stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Mason Gooding, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Jenna Ortega, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving, and sees the return of veteran Screamers Hayden Panettiere and Courteney Cox.

The sixth film in the horror franchise hits theaters on March 10, 2023.
